Hi everyone. Today I’m here with a super cute card that I made using the Newton’s Nook Kitten Beach stamp set. I absolutely adore this stamp set and I love how thin the lines are when stamping. When I first started colouring the stamps in, I had no idea what layout I would use, and it was only right at the end that I decided to opt for a slimline style as everything looked too crowded on the usual 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 setup. Anyway, I hope you like it.
Supplies I Used:
- Newton’s Nook Kitten Beach Stamp Set
- Heffy Doodle A Little Shellfish Stamp Set
- Crafter’s Companion Stamping Card
- Heffy Doodle 8.5 x 11” Coloured Cardstock – Sunny Side Up
- WH Smith Yellow Card
- Papermania In Bloom Paper Pad
- Heffy Doodle Stitched Slimline Trio Dies
- Heffy Doodle Slimline Scenery Dies
- Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide
- Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide
- Gold Stickles
- Lawn Fawn Glue Pen
- Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad
- Copic Markers
- White Gelly Roll Pen
Making the Card
I started off by stamping the imagines from the Newton’s Nook Kitten Beach set onto Crafter’s Companion cardstock. I then cut these out using my Brother Scanncut and coloured them in using Copic markers (with shading help gratefully found on Pinterest).
Upon deciding to create a slimline card, I used the largest Heffy slimline day to cut out a rectangle from the Papermania In Bloom pad, and the second largest die to cut out a rectangle from white card. I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide towards the top of the white rectangle and adhered both to my card base.
Next I grabbed some yellow card, cut it again using the second largest slimline die, and then used the wavy die from the Heffy Doodle scenery set to cut it into three smaller pieces. I blended Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide around the sides of each yellow piece of card, and adhered these to my card base.
Finally, I glued the stamped images to my card, inked a sentiment from the Kitten Beach stamp set at the top, and added gold stickles to parts of the sand.
I’m really happy with how this card turned out.
